Speaking Engagements
For the past 3 years I’ve traveled the U.S. and abroad speaking about the Everglades and the importance of youth voice and participation in conservation. There’s nothing more rewarding than sharing my stories and passions. From California to Egypt, I’ve been able to connect with people from all walks of life, all of us united by a common goal: protecting the wild spaces that sustain us. I’ve seen firsthand how storytelling has the power to bridge cultures, break down barriers, and inspire a collective action that can make a real difference.
I just returned from speaking to over 5,000 students in New Jersey. To the student who asked me, “How do you still have hope?” I told you I needed to think about it because so many things came to mind… So, here’s what I’ve settled on as my best answer to you:
In those moments when your eyes met the alligator’s on screen and I watched them widen with curiosity, when you leaned forward, captivated, as the Florida Gar drifted above my camera, and when I saw a tear roll down your cheek during the owl’s last moments…
I remembered that everything we see is just a reflection of what we choose to pay attention to.In your moments of curiosity, I saw the possibility for change.
What we focus on shapes what we believe is possible, and that, to me, is where hope lies. It’s in the power of perspective, and in the choices we make to pay attention and show up for what matters. When I looked around during my talk, I saw you, ready to listen, ready to change, and ready to fight for the future.
Nature doesn’t need you to be perfect, just present, to listen when the river grows quiet and act before the silence becomes permanent.
What I’m trying to say is, my hope is in you and in us.
I’d love to share my stories with you. Contact me here.
