Bat Nirvana
Luca led Miami’s historic first-ever victory in overturning a major development on environmentally sensitive land. A proposed water park named “Miami Wilds” threatened critical habitat for the endangered Florida bonneted bat, the most endangered bat in North America. To rally support, Luca created and released two independent short films that garnered over two million views, sparking widespread public awareness and outrage at a pivotal moment. The films garnered a powerful public response, and under immense pressure, Miami commissioners withdrew the plans entirely, leaving the development “DEAD.” This success is a testament to the power of storytelling in protecting our environment.
Luca partnered with great friend, and Director/Cinematographer Dan Lior, to create this short film. They shot, edited, and produced this piece in 48 hours.
